Is this covered by insurance?

No. Simple Sleep Tests is intentionally designed as a cash-pay service, which is why we are able to keep the price flat and predictable at $300. We do not bill insurance, file claims, or coordinate with insurance companies on your behalf. If you would like to try to seek reimbursement from your insurance, HSA, or FSA, we can provide a paid receipt that you can submit, but we cannot guarantee whether any portion will be reimbursed.

How much does it cost?

The all-in price for the home sleep test is $300. That includes coordination of the order, shipping of the testing device to your home, the testing device use, return shipping, scoring of the raw data, and review and interpretation by a qualified sleep physician. There are no separate facility fees, no surprise charges, and no insurance paperwork.

Do I pay before the device ships?

Yes. Payment of $300 is required up front, before the test is ordered and shipped. This keeps the process simple and avoids billing back-and-forth. Once payment is received and your intake information is reviewed, the device is sent to the address you provide with clear instructions for use.

Who reviews the results?

Accepted Answer

Your raw study data is scored and then reviewed by a qualified, board-eligible or board-certified sleep physician. They look at signals such as airflow, oxygen levels, and breathing events to provide a written interpretation. You will receive a copy of that report, which you can share with your dentist, primary care provider, or any specialist involved in your care.

What if I do not wear the device correctly?

Home sleep tests are designed to be straightforward, and the device ships with simple, step-by-step instructions. However, if the test cannot be interpreted because the device was not worn, was removed too early, or did not record enough usable data, a retest may be required. Retests due to user error are not included in the original $300 and may require an additional fee. We will always let you know before any additional charge is made.

What if the device does not work?

If there appears to be a device malfunction, a shipping problem, or an issue that is not related to how the test was worn, Simple Sleep Tests will work directly with the testing provider to resolve it at no additional cost to you. That may include sending a replacement device or re-running the study. Our goal is for you to end up with a usable, interpreted result.

Can this diagnose sleep apnea?

The home sleep test collects clinically relevant sleep-related breathing data, and a sleep physician reviews that data and provides a formal interpretation. For many adults with suspected obstructive sleep apnea, this type of study is an accepted diagnostic tool. That said, a home sleep test is not appropriate for every situation, and an in-lab study may be recommended in some cases based on your symptoms or medical history.

How long does the whole process take?

Most patients complete the process in about one to two weeks from start to finish. After you submit your intake form and payment, the device is typically shipped within a few business days. You usually wear it for one to three nights at home, return it using the prepaid materials, and then results are scored and reviewed by a sleep physician. You will receive your report once the physician review is complete.

What happens after I get my results?

You will receive a written report with the sleep physician's interpretation. From there, you can share the report with your dentist, primary care provider, ENT, or a sleep specialist to discuss next steps. Simple Sleep Tests focuses on coordinating the testing itself and does not prescribe CPAP, oral appliances, or other treatments — those decisions are made between you and a licensed treating provider.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

You do not need to bring a referral with you to get started. Many of our patients are sent by a dentist, primary care provider, or other clinician who suspects sleep apnea, but you are also welcome to start on your own if you have symptoms such as loud snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing, or daytime fatigue. A qualified sleep physician is still involved on the back end to review your study.

Is this an emergency service?

No. Simple Sleep Tests is not an emergency or urgent care provider, and we cannot respond to urgent medical issues. If you are experiencing chest pain, severe shortness of breath, fainting, or any other symptom that feels like an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department right away.
